Game Changer! Smooth Skin That Actually Lasts
I was honestly a little scared to try an epilator for the first time. I had always shaved, but I was getting tired of how quickly the hair would grow back sometimes in just a day or two. I wanted something that was better for my skin and would last longer, so after seeing a lot of positive reviews about the Philips Epilator Series 8000, I decided to go for it.At first, it was a little painful, especially on more sensitive areas like the underarms. But I had already read that it would get easier, and it’s true after a few passes, I got used to it. The device is easy to handle, and I love that it comes with different attachments, which made the whole experience more comfortable.I used it on my underarms and legs, and I was genuinely shocked at how smooth my skin felt afterward. It’s been several days and there’s still no hair, which is something I’ve never experienced with shaving. I also didn’t get the usual irritation or razor bumps, which is a big win for me.What I loved:Hair-free for days (no stubble the next morning!)Less skin irritation than shavingOnce you get used to it, it’s quick and easyFeels like an investment for long-term resultsWhat to expect:It can sting a bit the first few times, but it’s tolerableWorks best on hair that’s not super short or super longUse it after a shower and exfoliate first, it helps!Final Thoughts:This epilator completely changed my hair removal routine. I never thought I’d find a product that gives me smooth skin for this long without the hassle of daily shaving. I 1000% recommend it for anyone tired of shaving or looking for a better long-term solution. It’s officially part of my routine forever!

My new favorite!
As someone who has used the older version of the Philips 8000 wet / dry epilator for quite some time, I thought it might be useful to provide a comparison review. This updated version just came out and – at the time of this purchase – I couldn’t find any reviews which reported the differences between the old and new version (It doesn’t help that the old and new version both have the same name, either.).I loved the older version, but now believe that this one will quickly become my new favorite. Overall, this new version seems more ergonomic, balanced, and well-designed than it’s predecessor. I’ll start by mentioning my absolute favorite update to this new version: the removable / exchangeable end cover / guide (versus the old snap-on guide). The ability to remove the end cover appears to provide MUCH easier access if you happen to be a clean freak (like me) and tend to disassemble the tweezer heads for deep-cleaning. I’m not sure whether this was an intentional outcome of the new design (as the manufacturer tends to instruct users not to disassemble the tweezers for cleaning), however, I’m super excited that I won’t feel like I’m trying to perform surgery on the thing or like I have to nearly break the device head just trying to get the tweezers out.The effectiveness of hair removal seems about the same as the old design, which – if you’ve never used it before – is phenomenal. It’s like doing a hard wax, but picks up shorter hairs, doesn’t remove your skin with the hair, and can be used more regularly. Basically, all the benefits of a wax (smoothness, duration of effect) without the potential for burns, skin removal, or need for long regrowth between sessions. As with any epilator, you can knick or pinch sensitive parts if skin is not pulled taut while epilating… so just make sure to stretch the skin of at-risk areas and you’ll be fine. The lighting feature is way more useful than you think it will be and helps to visualize (and capture) hairs that you might not have otherwise seen. The pain factor is a lot like waxing, especially the first time you use it (when all hair growth cycles are likely to be present – i.e. more hair density). Unlike waxing, you can epilate between growth cycles (when hair is more sparse), so subsequent use tends to be much less painful.Make sure to exfoliate before and regularly after epilating, as this substantially decreases the likelihood of ingrown hairs as regrowth eventually occurs. This principle is true for any any hair removal method that pulls hair from the root, including other epilators and waxing. If you’re currently waxing or using another method of hair removal that has quick grow-back, I would definitely recommend trying this… it will change your life! If you’ve used another epilator and were disappointed with the results, try this one before you give up. No more 5 o’clock shadows for the underarms, bikini zone, legs, etc!As an obvious FYI, this device is way too large for replacing hair-removal methods surrounding the eyebrows… that is, unless you goal is long term removal of the entire eyebrow. It will, however, pick up most vellus hairs of adequate length (i.e. peach-fuzz) in areas that aren’t so small and precise – though, there can be a bit more likelihood for breakage (vs complete extraction) with such fine hairs (but not enough to really make it an issue).Either way, I would definitely recommend!!

BEST of 3 brands I’ve tried.
Amazing! Been epilating bikini & underarms between waxes for 20 years. Old Emjoi I loved went out of business, so have been searching for a good replacement for 2 years. Tried Braun – HATED IT. Barely plucked, had to go over and over the same spots, couldn’t get a straight line. Bought this Philips – YAYAYAY! Plucks right away, the ceramic “blades” are not sharp, it has a definite back so I can create a straight line. This thing works so great. It’s quick, efficient, I’m smooth, no hassle. YAY!

As a first timer, I LOVE IT
I am used to waxing, especially on the hellcat so I am very much aware of how painful it is.However, as much as I love to wax, my wallet doesn’t so I looked for alternatives on what could be the next best thing – and I found this gem. This is my first epilator and will be my only one. It is very easy to use for a first timer, plus I love the powder blue color. As said, I am aware of the pain so I took painkillers beforehand.I used it on both armpits and the process was quick. No complaints. Then comes the hellcat. I was sweating.Even with the painkillers, it is still painful BUT I was able to tolerate the pain epilate the flat landscape. It removes the hairs really well! But when it came to the valley down under, that’s when I surrendered cause it was just too painful for me. I did end up using my shaver – Bikini Trimmer for Women, Electric Pubic & Body Hair Trimmer for Sensitive Skin, Waterproof Lady Shaver – also bought from amazon. But in the end, i was really happy with this product. The pain just felt like I was waxing.TLDR:- it fits right in my hand- love the powerer blue color- LOVE the light where helps in showing the hairs- REMOVES HAIRS REALLY WELL- painful, but tolerable, great for beginners!- can be used wet or dry- IMO, i get the same results as waxing but for definitely a cheaper price- very easy to cleanOverall:I LOVE THIS PRODUCT.Would definitely recommend and is definitely worth the price!

Does the job pretty good. However it is very slow so took about an hour to do just my legs and I had to recharge after doing just one leg. I also found that using it resulted in alot of ingrown hairs which is something Ive never had an issue with when shaving. In terms of pain its not too bad on the legs, for the underarms its tolerable if you have a high pain tolerance. The shaver head is useful for areas that are too sensitive for the epilator. So overall its fairly good but probably not worth the money. Even though I can shave less using it, its honestly such a hassle to use that Id rather just shave every couple of days.

I’ve tried a few hair removal methods over the years, and the Philips Epilator Series 8000 has honestly impressed me the most. If you’re looking for long-lasting smoothness without constant upkeep, this one delivers.First off, it’s powerful but surprisingly gentle. The extra-wide epilator head covers a lot of surface area, and I was able to do both lower legs in about 10 minutes like advertised. The ceramic tweezers grab even the shortest hairs, and thanks to the double action technology, my skin stayed smooth for nearly four weeks. That alone makes it worth it.I also love that it’s cordless and wet/dry, so you can use it in the bath or shower. I personally find it much more comfortable in warm water. The different attachments make this feel like a full grooming system rather than just an epilator:• Shaving head + trimming comb for a close shave• Trimming head + bikini comb for more delicate areas• Delicate area cap and optimal contact cap for better controlThe caps really do make a difference, especially for sensitive areas. It feels controlled and precise instead of intimidating.Battery life has been solid, and cleaning is easy—just warm, soapy water as recommended. I also appreciate that it’s designed to be safe and straightforward to use.Yes, epilation isn’t completely painless (no epilator is), but this is about as comfortable as it gets, and the long-lasting results mean I’m not shaving every few days.If you’re debating making the switch from shaving to epilating, this is a fantastic option. Smooth skin for weeks, versatile attachments, and convenient cordless use, I highly recommend it!
